A file of correspondence and reports concerning tourism in Romania and visits to Romania by British officials. The documents discuss the announcement of new measures to encourage tourism to Romania, covering visas, currency changes, and facilities, the main motive for which is believed to be economic; and an article titled "Romania's position in International Tourism", covering developments to improve tourism in both directions. Further correspondence covers the removal of travel restrictions for French diplomats in Bucharest; suggestions that an air link be established between Romania and Italy; and a possible visit by the head of the Romanian State Bank, V. Malinschi, to Britain, where he wishes to give a lecture. The file also includes details of a visit to Romania by members of the Forestry Commission. The visit received much media interest, and delegates visited wood-producing regions and industrial facilities.
