A file of correspondence and press material concerning cultural developments in Czechoslovakia. The documents discuss an incident in which a Czechoslovak friend of Cecil Parrott, the British ambassador to Czechoslovakia, was interrogated by police for information regarding his contacts with Parrott; and the Czechoslovak government's decision to prevent Parrott's friend, a musician, from teaching music in Czechoslovakia or travelling abroad to play concerts. The documents also include a note on the signature of a cultural agreement between Czechoslovakia and Afghanistan; and an article in Trybuna Ludu on the signature of a cultural agreement between Czechoslovakia and Poland, concerning "the mutual transfer of cultural and archive property which was taken away by the occupying forces during the last war". Other documents include a series of articles from The Times assessing developments in Czechoslovak theatre; and a report in Czechoslovak Life discussing the popularity of dance in Czechoslovakia.
