A file of correspondence and reports concerning trade and economic relations between the United Kingdom and Albania. The correspondence discusses a proposed visit by a Bank of England representative to Albania, following an invitation from the State Bank of Albania; and an enquiry from the Cunard Shipping Company about navigation routes into the port of Durrës. The shipping company has received enquiries about the shipment of cotton goods from Albania to Liverpool and are concerned about obtaining up-to-date information about mines in the area. The file also covers Anglo-Albanian trade statistics for the period 1958–1962; a newspaper article on the visit of an Albanian trade mission to London at the invitation of a British export company; and reports that the Albanians are interested in exporting food and wood products to Britain in return for tinplate, sheet steel and pipes, and woodworking machinery.
