A file of correspondence on visits of British politicians, military officers, academics, and other residents of the United Kingdom to Poland. The file discusses the desire of the Polish Institute for International Affairs to have British guests deliver lectures to them; the desirability of sending more Conservative M.P.s to Poland to balance out the large number of Labour members who had already visited; the visit of a junior minister at the Board of Trade to give a lecture and attend the Poznań Trade Fair; and the financial barriers to sending British politicians to deliver further lectures. The file also contains correspondence between the Foreign Office and various people who wished to travel to Poland, in which the F.O. advised on the procedure for obtaining passports and visas, and reassured Polish nationals residing in Britain and Commonwealth countries that the Polish government was unlikely to prevent them returning from Poland unless they committed a crime.
