A file of correspondence concerning Hungarian scientific relations. The documents discuss the signature by the Hungarian government of scientific cooperation agreements with Romania and the Soviet Union. The documents also cover an invitation from the Society for Mechanical Engineering in Hungary to cooperate with the British Institution of Production Engineers; an initial letter from the Foreign Office suggesting that this cooperation should be avoided; and several subsequent letters withdrawing from this conclusion, and instead stating that "mutually satisfactory exchanges, without the obvious intrusion of political matters, may now be possible".
