A file of correspondence and reports on anniversary and national day celebrations in Bulgaria. The correspondence describes a rally and press reports on events to celebrate the eightieth anniversary of the Russo-Turkish War (1877–1878), which led to the liberation of Bulgaria; the poor displays at this year's May Day parade; and events at Bulgarian National Liberation Day, with notes on the absence of tanks from the military parade and the strongly anti-Western tone of speeches, including one delivered by the leader of the Bulgarian Agrarian National Union, Georgi Traykov.
