The correspondence refutes recent claims made in an Italian newspaper that leaders of the Jewish community in Czechoslovakia have been arrested for pro-Zionist activities; and discusses the views of an Israeli diplomat on anti-Semitism and the treatment of Jews in Czechoslovakia. The diplomat implied that Jews were considered untrustworthy and would not be given jobs of importance by the state.
