Northern (N): Czechoslovakia (NC). Meeting of International Fuel Experts in Czechoslovakia

A file of correspondence on a fuel congress in Czechoslovakia. The correspondence discusses recent press reports on a state-wide congress of fuel industry experts which took place Karlovy Vary. Countries participating included those from both Western and Eastern Europe, along with China and the Soviet Union. Subject matter included the production of coke and gas; the distribution of gas; hydrogenation and synthesis of fuels; the processing of crude oil, tar, and phenol; the economical use of gaseous, liquid, and solid fuels; and the most suitable method of processing and using brown coal. Further commentary discusses the future economic viability of Czechoslovakia's coal deposits.
