A file of correspondence concerning former members of the Czechoslovak armed forces. Subjects covered in the file include an enquiry from Marcel Friedman of Ohio, who was employed in the Czechoslovak Section of the Royal Air Force during the Second World War, with regard to his demobilisation pay. The money was transferred to the Anglo-Czechoslovak Bank in London, which has since been nationalised. The Foreign Office suggested he contact the bank, now called the Zivnostenska Bank, directly. Further enquiries concern the plight of Karel Janoušek, formerly Chief of the Czechoslovak Air Force, who organised the creation of the Czechoslovak units in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. He was imprisoned for fifteen years in 1948 following an attempt to escape the Czechoslovak regime. The correspondence discusses how a Parliamentary Question could be used to highlight the general's case in light of a recent presidential amnesty.
