A file of correspondence and reports concerning political developments in Czechoslovakia. The documents discuss a rumour that a "struggle for power" is ongoing within the Czechoslovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs; a series of ministerial changes within the Czechoslovak Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and a reorganisation of the political hierarchy in Czechoslovakia, with foreign affairs now "directly under the prime minister's office". Other documents cover a merger of the two Czechoslovak engineering ministries; a "distinct shake-up of top officials" within the Czechoslovak Ministry of Education and Culture; and the belief of the British embassy in Prague that Czechoslovakia is looking to improve its relations with Britain, whilst at the same time directing "increasingly vigorous attacks" towards the United States of America. The documents also contain a list of the members of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia.
