Northern (N): Romania (NR). Commercial Relations between Roumania and Yugoslavia

A file of correspondence and reports concerning relations between Romania and Yugoslavia. Subjects covered in the file include the signing of a new protocol regulating the exchange of goods between Yugoslavia and Romania for 1957; details of the goods to be exchanged, which include petroleum products, chemicals, industrial equipment, salt, paper, metals, cables, and fertilisers; and commentary on the volumes of trade. Further correspondence includes details of a protocol from the Yugoslav-Romanian Mixed Frontier Commission; of a collaboration on broadcasting; and of sessions of the Romanian-Yugoslav Joint Commission for the Utilisation of the Danube. The commission has been set up to coordinate the preliminary work for the Iron Gates hydro-electric project, and will also study ways of improving the navigation of the river and the utilisation of the waters for the purposes of agriculture.
