A file of correspondence and press material concerning a visit to Budapest by a delegation from the French Communist Party. The documents discuss meetings between members of the French delegation and leading figures within the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party; and visits by the French delegation to various industrial centres, including the steelworks at Sztalinvaros. The documents also contain a copy of a joint declaration published in the Hungarian press by the French Communist Party and the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party, which praised the defeat of the "fascist inspired counter-revolution" in Hungary; called for "unrelaxed vigilance against the scheming of the fascists and imperialists"; and stressed the international nature of socialism, including an agreement for further contacts between the two parties.
