Northern (N): Bulgaria (NG). Diplomatic Representation of Foreign Countries in Bulgaria

1957

A file of correspondence on diplomatic personnel in Bulgaria. The file contains a request for guidance from the British minister in Sofia to the Foreign Office on whether he should attend receptions given in honour of the North Vietnamese leader, Ho Chi Minh, who was paying an official visit to Bulgaria. The Foreign Office replied that he should not attend personally but could send a member of the legation staff to attend the Bulgarian government reception. The file also reports the efforts of the new Yugoslav ambassador to repair relations with Soviet-bloc diplomats in Sofia.
