A file of correspondence, reports, and press material concerning relations between Britain and Yugoslavia. The documents discuss the appointment of Ivo Vejvoda as the new Yugoslav ambassador to Britain, replacing Vladimir Velebit; the possibility of Selwyn Lloyd, the British Foreign Secretary, visiting Yugoslavia; and the view of the Foreign Office that "Yugoslav hostility to British policy has become increasingly vocal recently". The documents also contain a report produced by the British embassy in Belgrade covering the deterioration in relations between Britain and Yugoslavia over the past year, claiming that "1956 has been a disappointing year" in the development of Anglo-Yugoslav cultural and economic ties, and expressing the British fear that Yugoslavia is turning away from the West and back towards the Soviet Union. Other documents include two leaflets publicising the British-Yugoslav Society; and a discussion of a visit to Britain by Ko?a Popović, a leading Yugoslav economist.
